David Carcamo 21 was shot and killed by Kyle Capucci 36 with his own gun.

It was Friday afternoon on May 23, 2025 at an Autozone in Las Vegas, NV; the victim, David Carcamo, was trying to fix his car. David Carcamo entered the store along with another man named James. David Carcamo was openly carrying his gun on his waist according to police.

The shooter, Kyle Capucci, entered the store moments later. Kyle Capucci was acting erratic, banging on the entrance door, and pacing inside according to witnesses.

David Carcamo asked Kyle Capucci if there was something wrong. According to the report, Kyle Capucci lunged towards David Carcamo and a fight ensued. Kyle Capucci was able to get David Carcamo’s handgun out of his holster and shot David Carcamo with his own gun. Kyle Capucci shot 7 to 8 times before he fled, according to witnesses.

Kyle Capucci was later found by officers and he was arrested for murder. Police believed that Kyle Capucci was having a mental crisis. Kyle Capucci also told police that he was trying to dodge someone who was attempting to shoot him in the head. Kyle Capucci did admit to shooting David Carcamo.

Sometimes we just don’t know what’s coming around the corner and we can’t control other people. We can only control our own actions.
