*The KT Universal Bolt pattern allows you to attach Blackhawk, Blade-Tech, G-CODE RTI 39, or Safariland belt attachments on your KT OWB Holster. Just be aware that although all these belt attachments and drop legs will work with your KT OWB Holster, the belt attachments themselves won’t necessarily work with each other. For example, you can attach a Safariland QLS on your KT OWB Holster or a Blackhawk Paddle; however you can’t use a Safariland QLS to attach to the Blackhawk Paddle.

Duty KT AKELA (R2 release - push to the side/ OWB only) is a single sheet holster design. This holster features the KT Universal bolt pattern which allows you to use Blackhawk, Blade-Tech, G-Code RTI Hangers, and Safariland belt attachments.

Level 2 retention holster - Adjustable profile retention as primary (level1) plus a fast opening hood as secondary (level2). Designed for the "as fast as possible" draw while providing a secondary level of retention.

The Primary (level1) adjustable profile retention will retain the pistol in the holster with an approximate 1-6lbs. of vertical draw weight, depending on your handgun’s setup and features. The Secondary (level2) hood retention will prevent your pistol from falling out or coming out of your holster inadvertently. Please keep in mind that weapon retention training is recommended for open carry because if you can draw your weapon, anyone else can as well.

NOTICE hammer equipped pistols: All level 2 retention holsters for pistols with a hammer will have the level 2 hood set for the hammer in the “down” position. It is more secure to carry in the “hammer down” position because the hood will be more effective in keeping your handgun in the holster. With the hammer in the “cocked” position, there is the possibility that the hammer could deflect the level 2 hood, which may make it more likely to draw the handgun out by force. If you would like to carry with the hammer in the “cocked” position, please let us know before your holster is shipped and we can set up your holster accordingly. You can either shoot us an email or add a comment with your holster order that you plan to carry with the hammer in the “cocked” position.

NOTICE regarding fitment: The holster will be built with the specifications you’ve selected or stated on the order. Although most modern handguns and weapon light models are dimensionally the same, they may slightly vary from one sample to another. For example, the Glock Gen5 will typically have the thicker slide width, but some samples of the Gen5 are narrower. This shouldn’t cause any issues with most holsters. However, if you add a compact weapon light such as a TLR-7 (TLR-7A), the slide thickness will start to matter. If your Glock Gen5 has the narrower slide and the holster is built with a Glock Gen5 with a thicker slide, then the holster will feel loose. If you have this issue, just let us know. You can send back the holster and we can adjust it for the narrower slide, free of charge.

NOTICE Level 2 retention holsters: For the best security and function with Level 2 retention holsters, the weapon light models with the “RR excellent” are best because they provide the best stability in the holster. Weapon light models with the “RR fair” will be the weakest link in the holster’s overall retention security and my not offer the best function with the Level 2 retention holsters. This is because weapon light models with the “RR fair” lacks the robust features necessary to sufficiently stabilize your handgun in the holster. Weapon lights with the “RR fair” may not be able to prevent the handgun from tilting down in a Level 2 retention holster which could allow the handgun to bypass the Level 2 hood retention. NOTICE on “off-label” holster orders: “Off-label” holsters are holsters ordered for one handgun model or weapon light model but are intended to be used for a different handgun model or weapon light model. For example, if you order a holster for a Glock 17 but you are planning to use the holster for a Shadow Systems DR920 handgun. Although the DR920 and G17 look similar, they may not fit in the same holster. The holster ordered is an “off-label,” therefore we can’t guarantee a good fit. This also applies to weapon light models if you have a different weapon light model from what the holster is built for, or if you order a weapon light compatible holster but you’re not using a weapon light. The holster will not be 100% refundable as stated on the Terms on this website. If you have questions, please contact us before placing an order.

OPTION GUIDE:

OWB Quick Clamp 2.25 standard belt - The Quick Clamp is a locking clamp design so you don’t have to undo your belt. The standard belt option will allow up to a 2.25in wide belt with standard thickness (i.e. nylon or leather). The Quick Clamp has one adjustable block to adjust for width and a fixed block that will clamp down on the belt to minimize movement.

OWB Quick Clamp 2.25 duty belt - The duty belt option will allow for a thicker belt such as a duty or multilayer competition belt. If the duty version is too loose on your belt, you may need the standard size Quick Clamp.

OWB Standard Loop up to 1.5in - This is a closed loop belt attachment that will allow up to a 1.5in wide and up to a 3/8in thick belt.

OWB Drop Plate up to 2in and some 2.25in belts - Mid height drop for a more comfortable draw. The large surface minimizes pressure points for all day extended use.

OWB Drop Plate + Tan Nylon strap - This option adds the stability of a Tan Nylon thigh strap.

OWB Drop Plate + Black Nylon strap - This option adds the stability of a Black Nylon thigh strap.

OWB Drop Plate + Tan Elastic strap - This option adds the stability of a Tan Elastic thigh strap.

OWB Paddle - Wide surface area for better weight distribution. The OWB Paddle can also be adjusted for forward or back cant.

no belt attachment - If you don’t need a belt attachment, this option will not include any. This holster features the KT Universal bolt pattern which allows you to use Blackhawk, Blade-Tech, G-Code RTI Hangers, and Safariland belt attachments.

Custom Colors:

The Microfiber Suede Liner Service will add a liner to your holster. With having the ultra premium Microfiber Suede as an inside liner, this will help minimize wear on your handgun’s finish. The liner will take the majority of the wear instead of your handgun’s finish.

The option for an outside wrap is also available. With the outside wrap option, the liner will be applied to the outside of your holster. With the KT AKELA and Mk360 Wild Weasel holsters, the wrap will cover the whole outside of the holster. With the KT Gunfighter and KT Defender holster, the wrap will be applied to the front face or out facing side of the holster.

This service is available for new holster builds only. We apply the liner using our proprietary bonding process during production, so this cannot be added to existing holsters.
